Educators’ responses to artificial intelligence (AI) range from banning it entirely to embracing it fully. Like all new technology, AI is a tool that can be used for good or not-so-good. Unfortunately, middle and high school writing teachers must now deal with students’ AI-generated papers. In this session, we will discuss the pros and cons of AI in writing instruction along with pedagogical approaches that help reduce adolescents’ inappropriate use of it.
