Using Canva To Promote Literacy FILLING
Friday February 14, 2025 11:05am - 11:55am CST
Let's bring literacy to life with Canva! As librarians, reading teachers, and multilingual educators, we can design vibrant, customizable posters, reading challenges, and book recommendations to engage our community. Canva’s easy tools will help us create eye-catching materials that inspire a love of reading, encourage library participation, and make learning fun for all ages.
School Librarians can support our students with library programming through eye-catching posters, reading challenges, book recommendations, newsletters, social media, and more! Passive programming using Canva will ensure that you engage your patrons without overworking yourself. You can also use Canva to collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction from afar!
Reading Teachers can use Canva to create engaging reading strategies, flashcards, and interactive worksheets that make learning to read exciting and effective. Whether it's for phonics practice, comprehension activities, or vocabulary building, Canva provides the perfect platform to bring creative and educational resources to life.
Multilingual Teachers can design bilingual or multilingual content to support diverse learners. Canva allows for seamless integration of various languages, helping students feel seen and supported as they develop their reading and language skills. With templates designed to accommodate multiple languages, educators can foster inclusive environments that celebrate cultural diversity and language acquisition.
Together, these tools enable us to make literacy accessible, enjoyable, and engaging for all learners!
